**Description**
The Integrated Innovation Institute (III) at Carnegie Mellon University seeks an adjunct professor for our Tech Venture Marketing for Engineers course during the spring 2026 term. This required course is part of the Engineering Design, Innovation & Entrepreneurship (EDIE) (https://www.cmu.edu/iii/undergraduate-program/index.html) additional major for undergraduate students within the College of Engineering.
Course Description: 49205 - Tech Venture Marketing for Engineers
Designed for engineers, this course will cover key strategic and tactical marketing concepts and methods: product adoption life cycle, customer segmentation, strategic market planning, and tactical considerations, with special considerations for new high-tech engineering products and innovations. It will equip technologists with a marketing perspective, equipping them to achieve market adoption and sales growth.
Along with the qualifications below, the final candidate will be available to teach in person, potentially during the work day from January to March or March to May 2026. Final scheduling will be confirmed by August 2025.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
+ Interest in entrepreneurship, startups, or product development.
+ Basic understanding of product development and go-to-market strategies.
+ Experience in marketing technology products and digital marketing
+ Proven ability to teach and mentor students, with strong communication and presentation skills.
+ Passion for educating the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs.

+ Master's degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
+ Preferred work experience related to start-ups, product development, or business development
+ Previous teaching experience preferred
Requirements for Work Authorization
+ Applicants for this position must be in Pittsburgh for the fall term and legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
