We are looking for an Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer for our Plastics Development department at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for designing as well as industrialization of plastic parts by working closely with the Global Plastics Group Development and Industrialization Team. You will design innovative new systems and update ongoing product lines and support others to design for the process of characteristics of Additive Manufacturing Technologies.
The team consists of 9 professionals, and you will be working closely with the Additive Manufacturing and Manufacturing Technologies Group, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.
This position is available full-time on a permanent basis and based on site in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.
Grow with us – Your Responsibilities
Design and industrialisation of complex systems and devices by working on plastic parts across the Sartorius portfolio
Work closely with other key areas of the business, such as Production Engineering, Operations and Product Development to understand the design requirements and develop effective design solutions
Follow engineering processes to ensure quality is designed into all products and identifying process improvements that may be driven through the business
Produce, control and maintain all required design documentation
Participate in design review meetings
Hand-over product designs to the Operations Team to enable successful New Product Introduction
Provision of design advice and support to the build and commissioning teams during product build and test
What will convince us
HND/Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Physics (or related discipline) or Engineering apprenticeship complete with supporting qualifications
Industry experience in manufacturing/production environment, product design and development
Experience of CAD design package
Knowledge of industry regulations and quality standards (i.e.: ISO)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and team player
Experience of managing projects and the ability to work in a global project team
Experience of Additive Manufacturing would be beneficial
