Addiction Counselor
Title : Addiction Counselor Department: Healthcare Program: 820 Residential Services Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 Schedule: Daytime hours. Position Overview: The Pro g r a m is an O A S A S part 8 20 re s identi a l s t a biliz a tion a nd reh a bilit a tion pro g ram. This includes s er v i c e s from LPN 's, counselors, p syc hi a tri s ts and medi ca l doctors. The pro g ram i s de s i g ned a s a holi s ti c a nd highly indi v idu a lized model of treatment a nd fo c u s e s on client- ce ntered a nd trauma-informed a ppro ac he s to h e lpin g peopl e with s ub s t a nce u s e a nd co-occurrin g mental he a lth di s order s . Under the d i rect i on of the Program Director and Clinical Supervisor, the primary counselor will work with the clinical team, including nursing and counseling, to coordinate care for the OASAS-licensed 820 Residential Services Program. The counselor will provide regular case management services, conduct individual and group sessions, conduct intakes and manage an individual caseload of 5-7 clients. This is a full-time position and comes with an annual salary and benefits. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans with clients admitted to the program. + Maintain a caseload of clients and coordinate referrals to further treatment or other supports in the community. + Attend regular case conferences and other scheduled meetings with the clinical team. + Document all services in accordance with OASAS regulations. + Conduct 1-2 clinical groups per week with clients on topics related to substance use disorder, recovery skills, and managing emotions. + Attend weekly supervision. + Attend regular in-service trainings and workshops. Qualifications: + CASAC/CASAC-T preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred. + Excellent written and oral communication skills. + Good organizational and time management skills. + Experience and proficiency with EHR software and MS Office. + Familiarity with OASAS regulations for SUD treatment programs. + Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches to treatment including harm reduction. + Knowledge of the role of MOUD and other types of medication in treating addiction. + Bilingual a plus.
