The Associate Director, U.S. Payroll Lead is responsible for strategic direction and oversight of US Payroll acting as the policy and program owner. As the US Payroll COE, this role leads Tier 3 payroll operations, driving governance, automation, and compliance within the U.S. payroll landscape. The incumbent owns process integrity, partners with GBS, IT, and HR, and leads initiatives focused on payroll policies, implementation of functional requirements, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of the payroll ecosystem. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Develops and deploys U.S. payroll strategy, process, governance and documentation; liaises with the global process owner. + Maintains payroll KPIs and reporting (e.g., error rates, cycle time, SLA adherence) for a complex payroll set up (bi-monthly and semi-weekly pay cycles) along with multiple benefit plans. + Acts as functional lead for payroll testing for system changes, tax updates, EOY activities and configuration enhancements. + Collaborates with IT to translate payroll business requirements into SAP system configurations or enhancements including interfaces and integration oversight and managing the functional components of testing (scripts, gap training). + Manages gross to net payroll, garnishments,401(k) administration, year-end reporting and reconciliations. + Manages specialized relocation, expatriate, and immigration related activities (H1-B conversions). + Ensures foreign obligations are withheld and remitted and prepare cross-charges for accounting to the foreign entity. + Oversees Expatriate Payments, Hypotax calculations, monthly feeds to Tax vendors for timeliness and accuracy. + Provides payroll reporting to Tax provider as needed. + Manages entire audit process and root cause analysis leading to identifying and implementing process improvements. + Provides audit and compliance support (e.g., SOX, DOL, IRS requirements). + Performs audits and verification of data for third-party vendors upon request. + Responsible for auditing the processes, COLA’s and provide accounting details. + Manages communication with and processes as defined by Third Party Relocation Vendor (i.e. Tax, Fleet). + Oversees and audits for off-cycle payment processing, such as SEP, SMP, and Severance. + Audits Foreign Paid Items feeds. + Performs audits on W-2’s of unique paychecks (i.e. Senior Executives, Expats, Inpats, off-cycle feeds). + Manages escalated issues, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking. + Applies, analyzes, interprets, and oversees data, technology, and processes as well as the delivery of a broad scope of information pertaining to benefit deductions, garnishments, payroll taxes, third party vendors, funding and accounting. + Partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure effective communication and alignment. + Participates in and leads cross-functional SAP payroll projects and upgrades. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with a focus on payroll and taxation required. + Seven-plus (7+) years of experience in U.S. payroll, including three-plus (3+) years in a payroll operations, systems, or governance-focused role. + Three-plus (3+) years working with a modern payroll system and integrations, SAP Payroll (HCM PY) experience preferred. + Deep knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations (FLSA, IRS tax rules, state-specific laws). + Demonstrated experience in working with audit and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX controls). + Requires knowledge of multiple employee types, policies and procedures, benefit plans and time reporting systems. **Eligibility Requirements** : + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. + Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required). + Must be 18 years of age or older. \#LI-AP1 All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to a person’s actual or perceived race, including natural hairstyles, hair texture and protective hairstyles; color; creed; religion; national origin; age; ancestry; citizenship status, marital status; gender, gender identity or expression; sexual orientation, mental, physical or intellectual disability, veteran status; pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition; genetic information (including the refusal to submit to genetic testing) or any other class or characteristic protected by applicable law.
