We blend high-tech with high touch in ways that are advancing superior health care throughout the communities we serve. **Speech Therapist Pool Responsibilities:** + Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing function in medically complex patients. + Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and/or swallowing disorders. + Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational/physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare providers. + Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. + Provide patient and family education related to communication strategies, feeding precautions, and recovery expectations. + Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning. + Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and/or Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), if credentialed. + Adhere to infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies. + Stay current with clinical best practices and continuing education relevant to acute care SLP. + Responsible for providing the appropriate level of clinical direction for therapists completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), Speech Language Pathology students and volunteers. **Requirements:** + CCC-SLP (Speech Language Pathology) + BLS (Basic Life Support) + Speech Therapy License + Required Master's Speech Therapy + Preferred Doctorate Speech Therapy + 1 year Clinical Related is preferred **Facility:** BayCare Health System, Rehab Services Main-MPH **Location:** **Morton Plant Hospital - Clearwater, FL** **Status:** **Pool, Exempt: No** **Shift Hours:** **Varies 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.** **Shift:** **Days** **Weekend Work:** **Occasional** **On Call:** **No** **How often will this team member be working remotely?** Never Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled **Position** Acute Speech Therapist Pool **Location** Clearwater:Morton Plant | Clinical | Pool **Req ID** null
