DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Actuarial Associate, you will be tasked with coordinating SWIF’s staff and external actuaries to ensure all parties have correct and current data, and that all parties understand the needs of the others. You will be responsible for assisting in the analysis and evaluation of insurance rates, rating procedures, rating plans, and schedules of workers’ compensation insurance. Work involves researching and compiling insurance rate related data and preparing actuarial studies on insurance matters. You will have the opportunity to work with Insurance Department officials regarding actuarial matters as well as process requests and inquiries from the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau (PCRB) and Office of Information Technology (OIT). Additional responsibilities include: + Examining insurance policy forms + Disseminating actuarial information requested by organizations and individuals + Compiling monthly schedule rating data + Writing SWIF’s monthly rating memo + Compiling traumatic coal injury data for the Coal Mine Compensation Rating Bureau (CMCRB) + Updating and distributing monthly charts + Maintaining historical Actuarial Department exhibits Interested in learning more?
