Salary Range: $18.03 - $21.97
Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.
Position Summary:
Scheduled hours of work include weekdays, every other weekend, some evenings and holidays. This position may be held as an interim as a staff member undertakes receiving Activity Leader Certification for the State of California. Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.District Responsibility:

Constantly use C-I-CARE principles when communicating with others. Performance Improvement Activities Professional DevelopmentPosition Duties/Responsibility:
Presents individual and group activities. Assists with planning activity programs. Presents three to five activity programs daily. Presents programs as they are described in the program description. Begins and concludes programs on time. Assures needed attendance at programs by communicating with the nursing staff. Pursues each resident’s active highest practical participation. Conduct individual room visits with residents for socialization and sensory stimulation. Assist with maintaining participation records. Record accurately: attendance, degree of participation and residents responses. Assist with assembling bulletin boards, display calendars, and arranging equipment for programs. Assists with residents’ care and special needs Occasionally transports residents to appointments, shopping or out of facility activities. Passes trays at breakfast and lunch in the Activity Room. May assist with different tasks such as feeding. Position Competencies Other duties assigned by supervisorEssential Functions:
The ability for prolonged standing, walking and sitting. The ability to keyboard. The ability to bend or kneel. The ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous and respectful working relationships with residents, their families, volunteers, co-workers and the general public The ability to be supervised. The ability to work as a Team.Position Qualifications:
Education: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate ability to read, write and follow instructions. Experience: Experience working the elderly is preferred but not required. Certifications: Must possess a valid California Drivers License (with a good driving record). Skills/Ability: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; perform responsibilities within departmental time lines; successfully coordinate several tasks simultaneously; be able to work as departmental needs dictate, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime; be able to work with individuals of all functioning levels.
