Active Directory Systems Administrator

All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with VITAS Healthcare Corporation’s policies, procedures, guidelines, contractual commitments and governmental regulations.
• Active Directory Management: • Configure and maintain the AD structure, including forests, domains, OUs and group policies. • Monitor replication processes and troubleshoot issues with domain controllers. • User and Access Management: • Create, manage, and disable user accounts, groups, service accounts and permissions. • Implement and manage Group Policy Objects to enforce security policies and system configurations. • Manage role-based access control (RBAC). • DNS Management: • Management of domain zones and different record types (SVC, A, PTR, CNAME). • Security and Compliance: • Ensure the security of AD by implementing best practices, like enabling auditing and managing access permissions. • Monitor and respond to potential security threats, such as unauthorized access attempts. • Comply with audit and regulatory requirements. • Troubleshooting and Support: • Diagnose and resolve AD-related technical issues, such as login failures, replication problems, and authentication errors. • Collaborate with service desk, security, infrastructure and other support teams to address escalated user issues. • System Integration: • Integrate AD with other systems, including third-party applications and cloud services (e.g. Fischer, Okta, Azure AD). • Configure and manage Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). • Backup and Disaster Recovery: • Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures for AD data. • Test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. • Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience: • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Active Directory administration. • Hands-on experience with Powershell and SSO configurations. • Hands-on experience implementing Active Directory best practices. • Proficiency in AD Tools: • Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) • Active Directory Administrative Center (ADAC) • PowerShell for AD management • Nslookup, dig and dns manager to diagnose DNS issues. • Repadmin, dcdiag, AD Domain and Trusts and AD Sites and Services to manage and diagnose AD health. • Windows Server Expertise: • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, especially features like DNS, DHCP, and PKI • Scripting and Automation: • Use of PowerShell or similar scripting tools for automation of repetitive tasks and reporting. • Networking Knowledge: • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs. • Cloud Integration: • Experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and hybrid AD environments.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
