ACI Job Developer
Profile: The Andromeda Community Initiative (ACI), a nonprofit entity providing professional development opportunities, free education/workforce programs, and hands on/certification training to prepare students for gainful employment in the construction industry, is seeking a Job Developer (JD). ACI provides quality training and workforce development programming imparted by subject matter experts, to bridge the gap between companies in need of qualified workers and individuals seeking quality, career ladder employment. Reporting to the Director of Job Development, the Job Developer will be a seasoned relationship manager/account developer with the ability to work both with program participants and hiring managers. Program participants will predominantly be entry level and connected to social service programs, where they will have received basic job readiness and assistance overcoming barriers to complement ACI’s certification and skills training at ACI in Green/Energy Efficient Construction and Masonry. The JD will interact with employers engaged in green and energy efficient construction, building restoration and general construction to understand hiring needs for ACI graduates, market ACI and its graduates as a business solution, establish and develop ongoing placement relationships, and place/replace the graduates of ACI programs in gainful employment, achieving an ongoing placement rate of 85% or greater. The Job Developers target population may change focus among various different training graduates with a primary focus being on ACI’s Green/NYSERDA graduates. Responsibilities: Specifically, the Job Developer will: + Conduct in person, telephone, and event based outreach and networking to employers in our sectors (and in construction in general) to build awareness and provide for hiring; + Establish and nurture ongoing employer relationships to insure hiring of ACI graduates and the understanding of ACI as a go to employer resource; + Meet with clients 1-on-1 during and after the training program to prepare them for interview with “JD identified employers” and employers in general (providing feedback, practice mock interviews, and resume adjustments as necessary); + Engage in job matching to refer the most appropriate candidates to the right employers based on location, experience, disposition and workplace characteristics and follow up on placements to gauge satisfaction, address any problems, and allow for program improvement; + Communicate outcomes and track client progress through timely database entries; + Engage in case management and interaction with fellow job development staff and other ACI personnel; + Modify resumes as appropriate to best market clients; + Where appropriate, coordinate Job Fairs with the program director for specific high volume employers; + Interact with social service partners to insure additional support where necessary; + Maintain ongoing client contact until job placement (or program decision to refer client back to provider for additional support); and + Document employer relationship development activities in agency systems; Qualifications: + Experience with/in the Construction Industry with business development or analogous experience; + Understanding of DOB & OSHA certification process; + Understanding of energy efficiency and local laws controlling same; + Sales or similar experience preferred + Prior staffing/placement experience + BA or Better Preferred; + Salesforce (or other database) Experience preferred + Spanish language competence strongly preferred Department ACI Employment Type Full-Time Minimum Experience Mid-level Compensation $64,000 - $68,000
