POSITION SUMMARY: The Accountant in the Credit and Collections area is responsible for the activities related to credit evaluation, accounts receivable management, and debt recovery. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial records, implementing effective credit policies, and optimizing collection processes to improve the company's liquidity. Additionally, you will collaborate with finance teams to optimize cash management strategies and generate various ad hoc reports related to C&C functions. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Collects, compiles, analyzes, and verifies financial, invoices, or other data to ensure the integrity of accounting records. Investigates and resolves discrepancies. Prepares analysis and schedules in support of financial statements and related disclosures. May review analysis and schedules in support of payment proposals within the Treasury organization. + Reviews journal entries and other transactions, general ledger, account reconciliation, and government reports. Identifies and implements costs and efficiency gaps and implements ways to reduce costs or improve processes and standards. + Serves as a resource or lead to less experienced accountants. May train, mentor, assist in providing direction or review the work of newer accountants. + Ensures the integrity of financial transactions with both internal and external stakeholders as well as ensuring successful completion of internal and external audits. May ensure the integrity of financial information in the invoicing process and ensure compliance with government requirements. + Supports accounting processes through managing and prioritizing business requirements, system enhancements, and/or LATAM accounting standards. Ensures standard business processes are followed across multiple accounting functions. + Ensures proper execution of controls and performance, documentation, and retention in accordance with accounting policy. May approve reconciliation of bill of runs to detect possible fraud. + Displays advanced ability to utilize systems/tools, which may include, but not limited to, Excel, SAP, PowerBI, etc. + May provide accounting advice to leadership to assist them in managing their responsibilities. May document, update, and maintain internal procedures or work on or even lead special projects. May collaborate and maintain strong relationship with internal/external customers, third parties and project teams to ensure adherence to the AP/AR standard operating processes.
