Accounts Receivable Specialist/Manager
Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist/Manager to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a long-term contract position, ideal for an experienced individual who excels in financial accounting, cost management, and accounts payable oversight. The role offers the opportunity to lead and manage financial processes while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across various accounting functions. Responsibilities: • Oversee month-end and quarter-end financial close processes, including inventory, cost of goods sold, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general accounting. • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial data, analyze variances, and reconcile accounts with the general ledger. • Calculate and report on obsolete and slow-moving inventory, collaborating with teams to monitor inventory months on hand. • Support proper costing and recognition of inventory balances in the company's general ledger. • Set standard costs for new items and update existing ones as needed, ensuring accurate cost data. • Collaborate with the procurement team to monitor purchase price variance reports and establish new standard costs during annual cost roll. • Collect and analyze operational cost data to drive informed financial decisions. • Record, monitor, and report on fixed assets and capital expenditures with precision. • Manage senior accounts payable staff to ensure timely invoice approval and payment processes. • Handle vendor setup, changes, and oversee weekly payment runs to maintain smooth operations. Requirements • Proven expertise in cost accounting principles, fixed assets, accounts payable, financial accounting practices, and budgeting techniques. • Proficiency in using accounting software systems and tools such as 3M, Concur, ADP Financial Services, and CRM platforms. • Strong experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including auditing and billing. • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data with a high level of accuracy. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills for handling multiple priorities. • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across departments and teams. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Familiarity with inventory management and operational cost analysis processes.
