We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team and assist our Accounts Receivable Manager. This role is primarily responsible for assisting with billing, cash receipts, and providing direct support to the AR Manager.
ResponsibilitiesSupport vendor setup by managing customer requests and ensuring successful vendor setup.Provide customers with accurate company information, certifications, tax documents, and banking details.Set up usernames and passwords to access customer procurement portals as needed.Obtain approvals for any fees and process payments as necessary.Review billing batches for errors and ensure compliance and accuracy before finalization.Provide feedback or corrections when inconsistencies are found.Assist with cash receipts and cash applications by reviewing batches processed by Cash Application specialists.Verify batch balances, check for common errors, and ensure system compliance.Review and approve Lockbox, Credit Card, and ACH batches before posting.Assist the AR Manager with various assignments and unapplied payments.Contact customers to determine payment intentions for unmatched payments and process check requests for over-payment or duplicate payment refunds.Provide administrative and analytical support for AR-related initiatives.Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payment status and invoice details.Support system upgrades, data clean-up, or special projects as assigned.Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance AR processes and efficiency.Write or update policy and procedures manuals and job aids.
Essential SkillsExperience in invoicing, data entry, accounting, invoice processing, customer service, and billing collections.Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required).1+ years of accounts receivable, general accounting, or billing experience (preferred).Strong understanding of cash application processes and invoice reconciliation.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsWorkday experience is strongly preferred and highly desirable.
Work Environment
The role requires working 5 days onsite with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Flexible start hours between 7 am to 9 am are offered, provided the schedule remains consistent. The office features pit-style cubicles, and candidates should be comfortable working in an open environment. Free parking is available for employees at a garage next to the office, and the location is three blocks from the Bethesda Metro.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
