Accounts Receivable Specialist
Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio. In this long-term contract position, you will manage various aspects of accounts receivable operations, including credit reviews, invoicing, collections, and customer account maintenance. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in commercial billing, cash applications, and collections. Responsibilities: • Review and evaluate new customer applications, establish credit limits, and collaborate with credit insurance providers. • Maintain updated records of customer credit terms, limits, and holds to ensure account compliance. • Monitor customer accounts for payment activity, credit availability, and overall financial health. • Ensure timely collection of receivables within agreed payment terms and address overdue accounts. • Issue lien waivers, reconcile payments with projects, and coordinate with legal teams to maintain lien rights. • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding billing discrepancies and payment-related concerns. • Process daily invoices for shipments and manage customer pay portals efficiently. • Post daily cash transactions and prepare detailed reports on outstanding accounts receivable. • Handle customer chargebacks, bad debt management, and resolve invoicing issues. • Calculate sales commissions for both internal and external representatives and assist with tax filings. Requirements • Strong experience in accounts receivable operations, including cash applications and commercial collections. • Proficiency in managing billing functions and maintaining customer account records. • Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve payment-related issues effectively. • Familiarity with credit insurance processes, including renewals and reporting. • Skilled in posting daily cash activity and preparing detailed accounts receivable reports. • Experience with lien waivers, legal coordination, and preserving lien rights. • Knowledge of sales commission calculations and tax filing procedures. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to support accounting workflows.
