Accounts Receivable Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client's team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract opportunity where you will play a key role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate payment applications, and maintaining customer accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Process customer invoices promptly and accurately, reviewing documentation and making necessary adjustments. • Apply cash receipts from various sources, including lockboxes, to customer accounts using appropriate systems. • Analyze remittance data to ensure proper payment application and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts. • Prepare detailed customer statements on a weekly and monthly basis. • Communicate with internal teams and external customers to resolve payment issues, account discrepancies, and billing inquiries. • Conduct collection calls to address overdue accounts and reduce outstanding balances. • Reconcile daily cash application records by division to maintain accurate financial details. • Investigate chargebacks and unapplied cash, ensuring timely resolution and account accuracy. • Collaborate with intercompany partners to reconcile accounts receivable balances on a monthly basis. • Assist with month-end accounts receivable processes, including reconciliations and reporting. *Please note that all candidates are required to provide 2 recent supervisor or manager references in order to be considered for employment. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting is a plus. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field. • Strong understanding of accounts receivable practices and principles. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with accounting software systems. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse teams. • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting. • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
