Accounts Receivable Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This position is offering the opportunity to transition into an ongoing role based on performance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payment collections, resolving account discrepancies, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the company's financial operations. Responsibilities: • Negotiate payment terms and arrangements with customers to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances. • Monitor and resolve discrepancies, disputes, and errors in accounts to maintain accuracy. • Collaborate with internal teams, such as billing and customer service, to address account issues and improve processes. • Process and post payments accurately by matching them to customer invoices and accounts. • Reconcile discrepancies between received payments and recorded transactions, ensuring proper resolution. • Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account-related concerns with professionalism and empathy. • Prepare reports detailing cash application and collection activities for management review. • Maintain accurate documentation of all transactions and activities for auditing purposes. • Identify opportunities to streamline cash application and accounts receivable processes. • Work towards achieving departmental goals related to collections and account aging metrics Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, and collections within a commercial setting. • Strong understanding of billing functions and cash activity processes. • Proficiency in using financial systems such as Epicor, PeopleSoft, or Oracle; training will be provided if needed. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve customer issues effectively. • High attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial records and transactions. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to address account-related concerns. • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for reporting and analysis.
