Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in North Houston, Texas. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to handle diverse financial activities, including payment processing and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cash applications and billing functions, along with proficiency in Sage 300. Responsibilities: • Accurately post incoming payments, including wires, credit cards, checks, and local deposits, into Sage 300. • Utilize an AI-powered cash application platform to manage automated payment matches and resolve exceptions manually. • Investigate and reconcile payment discrepancies using Microsoft Excel and ensure proper posting outside of automation systems. • Process customer refunds and set up secure electronic payment agreements. • Support accounts receivable representatives by researching and resolving unidentified or misapplied payments. • Maintain and update customer files to reflect changes in contact information, mergers, or other updates. • Generate reports on customer account statuses and assist with monthly billing statement preparation. • Collaborate with teams from acquired companies to reconcile historical accounts receivable data and integrate legacy systems. • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including General Managers, to address payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable and cash applications. • Strong knowledge of Sage 300 and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Ability to manage complex payment processing tasks with accuracy and efficiency. • Familiarity with electronic payment platforms such as OrbiPay. • Excellent problem-solving skills for resolving payment discrepancies and exceptions. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. • Detail-oriented approach to maintaining accurate financial records and customer files. • Prior experience in commercial collections and billing functions is preferred.
