Accounts Receivable Clerk
Job Title: Collections ClerkJob Description

The Collections Clerk is responsible for processing day-to-day cash receipts from customers into Sage Intacct and other internal systems, managing customer communications regarding invoice collection, and addressing other customer inquiries. This role involves solving customer billing issues and managing relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, self-driven, and has a meticulous eye for detail.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze cash application and collection procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement.Prepare reports and provide cash collection trends for better cash flow management while enforcing billing deadlines.Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.Perform detailed analysis to respond to billing and invoicing inquiries.Review daily incoming banking transactions and book accordingly.Prepare aging reports and update/reconcile sub-ledger to G/L.Update and maintain customer records in the ERP system.Proactively monitor and follow up on delinquent accounts in a timely manner.Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by manager.Participate in audits, process documentation, and process improvement.Manage the suspension and/or cancellation of accounts.Inform management and account management teams regarding potential issues and escalate situations as appropriate.
Essential Skills2-4 years of accounts receivable and collections experience, preferably in a high-volume billing environment.Self-motivated with an eye for process initiatives and improvement.Solid understanding of accounts receivable and basic accounting policies.Strong MS Office Suite skills.Experience with Intacct or other ERPs is a plus.
Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant field.Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.Ability to work in an open environment with cross-functional teams.Strong communication and customer service skills with internal and external contacts.
Work Environment

This position offers a remote/hybrid work environment with a team of seven. Candidates in Utah or San Francisco are preferred to occasionally work in the office. The role follows a standard 8-5, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time schedule. The position is open to candidates in one of 20 states, including Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lehi, Utah.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
