Accounts Receivable Clerk
Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. As part of a small, family-owned business, this role offers an opportunity to handle critical accounting and customer service tasks in a supportive office environment. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and collections, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. • Set up new jobs in the company’s proprietary systems, • Prepare and send invoices for completed projects, following up with customers for collections as needed • Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures. • Communicate effectively with customers and vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues. • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth integration of job tracking and accounting systems. • Monitor and report on outstanding balances, taking proactive steps to minimize overdue accounts. • Assist with general office tasks to support the team and maintain organized records. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office environment, preferably in accounts receivable or related roles. • Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage 100 or comparable systems; experience with QuickBooks is acceptable. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately. • Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with customers and handling collections professionally. • Tech-savvy with the ability to work across multiple systems and platforms. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. • Experience in a small business setting is a plus, with an understanding of family-owned company dynamics. • Reliable and experienced, with a strong sense of accountability and a customer-focused mindset.
