Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description Seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support accounts receivable operations in a mission-driven organization focused on affordable housing and community support. This full-time, on-site role involves managing various aspects of accounts receivable processes and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Responsibilities + Reconcile resident accounts and coordinate with property management. + Manage collections for former tenants, including payment plans and refunds. + Ensure compliance with state notification laws. + Invoice affiliated nonprofits for shared services. + Handle inter-agency receivables and reporting. + Prepare financial reports such as rent rolls and aged receivables. + Maintain accurate records of receivable activity. Essential Skills + Associate degree in accounting or related field, plus two years of relevant experience (or near completion of degree). + Proficiency in accounts receivable processes, including collections. Needing at least 2+ years of AR experience. + Experience with general ledger tasks, including journal entries, debits, credits, and reconciliations. + Advanced skills in MS Excel, including Lookups (X, V, H) and Pivot Tables. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in government, property management, affordable housing, or nonprofit sectors highly preferred. + Familiarity with Elite Software is a bonus, though not required. + Experience with multi-family real estate, such as apartments, condos, and senio r living, is highly preferred. Work Environment The role is based in an office with a team size of five, expanding to six with this position. The position offers flexible hours within a set schedule between 7 AM and 6 PM, allowing adjustments for appointments. The workplace is business casual, and parking is available for employees.
