Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager
Description 🏢 Position Overview Bill Watts at Robert Half is partnering with a great Energy company who is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP team within the fast-paced and highly regulated Energy sector. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the entire AP cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and timely vendor payments across multiple energy-related projects and operations. 📌 Key Responsibilities + Supervise and mentor AP staff, promoting efficiency and cross-functional collaboration + Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, approvals, and payment execution + Ensure compliance with sector-specific regulations, including utility billing standards, environmental reporting, and procurement policies + Optimize payment cycles to support cash flow and operational continuity in energy projects + Liaise with internal departments (procurement, operations, legal) to resolve discrepancies and align spending strategies + Implement and maintain automated AP systems (e.g., ERP platforms) tailored for energy industry needs + Monitor vendor contracts and service agreements to validate billing accuracy + Prepare AP reports and analytics for financial planning, audits, and regulatory review Requirements 🎯 Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) + 5+ years of AP experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role + Strong understanding of GAAP and energy industry compliance (FERC, EPA, etc.) + Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms + Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills + Ability to thrive in high-volume, deadline-driven environments 🌟 Preferred Qualifications + Experience managing AP across multiple energy-related entities or geographic regions + Familiarity with renewable energy incentives, cost tracking, and vendor sourcing regulations + Prior involvement in systems transformation or digitalization of AP processes Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
