Hourly base pay rate is $19.57 - $29.38/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist. This person will play a critical role in not only supporting the day-to-day Accounts Payable (AP) activities such as month-end close, invoice entry, payment processing , supplier data management, transactional activities, possible supplier set and maintenance.  Also helping our business scale by reinforcing policy, supporting the business workflow, and helping to enhancement processes and controls.  We are looking for candidates who have a keen sense of ownership, being adaptive to fast changing environment, and a high curiosity to learn about the business and products. This position also partners with business stakeholders such as Supply Chain, Controller, Assistant Controller, and/or Staff Accountant.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm Eastern

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure invoices are accurately verified, coded, and processedResearch, troubleshoot, and resolve invoice exceptions within defined service level agreementsResolve invoice exceptions related to PO and non-PO by using hold and workflow approval reports to identify areas for efficienciesWork with and respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner – exhibit superior customer serviceProcess payments according to a defined schedule, pay type, and pay group.  Apply stop payments or decision positive pay activities in the banking portal. Initiate local checks to Cox Automotive Business Units per set schedule.Document and research returned checks to determine appropriate actionVoid lost or unaccounted checks in Payables systemSet up/Maintain suppliers, with required documentationAudit expense reports for compliance to company policy, ensuring the appropriate documentation is attached.  Effectively respond to e-mail and phone inquiries from 30,000+ employees at all levelsProvide Ad hoc support for other general AP activities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum-

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (administrative, clerical, financial etc.)OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience;OR 5 years’ experience in a related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredEffective organizational skills requiredStrong customer service experience neededExcellent computer and software knowledge is essential, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OutlookStrong time management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines

Preferred-

Experience with Oracle preferred
