Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Everett, Washington. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of vendor payments and account reconciliations within a wholesale distribution environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. Responsibilities: • Process vendor bills, post item receipts, and reconcile account statements to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and internal team members. • Verify billed items against purchase orders and received goods to maintain accurate records. • Prepare and execute accounts payable reports and vendor check runs in a timely manner. • Address payment discrepancies by following up with customers and ensuring resolution. • Provide support to employees, vendors, and clients by answering inquiries related to accounts and services. • Assist with monthly closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting. • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to meet operational deadlines. • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the accounting department. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with accounting systems such as SL Dynamics or Oracle. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and managing ACH and check runs. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communicate effectively. • Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification to ensure accuracy. • Dependable and consistent in attendance and meeting deadlines.
