Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Baytown, Texas. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the organization. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable tasks. Responsibilities: • Verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and necessary approvals before processing payments. • Enter invoices into the accounting system to ensure accurate and timely payment. • Coordinate weekly check runs, prepare checks, organize backup files, and distribute payments accordingly. • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal staff to address payment inquiries or discrepancies. • Maintain detailed accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and organized corporate files. • Perform month-end closing activities with precision and ensure all assigned tasks are completed on time. • Handle overnight shipment preparation and processing to designated locations. • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, copying, and scanning as needed. • Reconcile accounts to ensure financial accuracy and resolve any inconsistencies. • Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • Minimum of three years of accounts payable experience within an accounting department. • Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including account coding, invoice coding, and check runs. • Strong knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment systems and experience using SAP. • Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong organizational abilities. • Ability to work collaboratively across various levels of the organization. • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
