Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Gardena, California. In this long-term temp to hire contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records for our organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts payable processes, vendor relations, and reconciliation tasks while demonstrating proficiency with accounting software and tools. Responsibilities: • Process and code invoices accurately, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. • Match invoices with purchase orders and receivers to verify correctness before payment. • Manage overhead invoices, including posting, reconciliation, and journal entries. • Handle credit card expenses, assigning them to appropriate accounts and performing reconciliations. • Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all payments and invoices align. • Prepare and double-check check payments for accuracy and completeness. • Set up new vendor profiles, maintaining accurate and organized records. • Utilize accounting ERP software systems as well as Excel, ADP and Concur, for financial management and reporting. • Collaborate with less experienced staff to ensure smooth accounts payable operations. • Maintain compliance with construction industry-specific accounting practices. Requirements • At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable or related financial roles. Payroll experience is a Plus for this role! • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Concur and ERP Softwares. • Strong skills in invoice coding, general ledger functions, and journal entries. • Ability to reconcile statements, vendor accounts, and credit card transactions. • Familiarity with construction industry accounting practices is preferred. • Intermediate knowledge of Excel for data entry and reporting. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong communication abilities for vendor and internal team coordination.
