Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Tuskegee, Alabama. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to ensuring financial accuracy. The role involves managing various aspects of accounts payable operations, providing support to internal departments, and maintaining compliance with company policies. Responsibilities: • Process and validate invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payment issuance, including handling requests for special processing. • Perform administrative duties for the Accounts Payable and Finance Department to support daily operations. • Maintain compliance with organizational policies while executing controls and procedures efficiently. • Assist with both internal and external audit preparations and provide necessary documentation. • Sort, organize, and distribute incoming department mail on a daily basis. • Collaborate with internal teams to address inquiries and provide accounts payable support. • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, from invoice receipt to payment processing. • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure ledger journal entries are accurate and complete. • Support month-end close processes, including account reconciliation and reporting. • Maintain accurate financial records and contribute to continuous process improvement. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar role. • Proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets and financial databases for data management. • Familiarity with journal entries and account reconciliation processes. • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to follow established procedures. • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, particularly when interacting with technical and financial professionals. • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred. • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting is a plus.
