Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining vendor relationships, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. You will contribute to essential accounting functions while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: • Establish and manage vendor accounts, ensuring accurate record-keeping and file maintenance. • Review and verify invoices for accuracy in pricing, quantities, and purchase order matches, and process them for approval in NetSuite. • Maintain and update vendor data, including tax files and necessary documentation. • Handle employee expense reports, reimbursements, and corporate credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies as needed. • Ensure compliance with company policies in all financial transactions and reporting. • Maintain fixed asset records and track depreciation schedules in both system and spreadsheet formats. • Assist with month-end closing tasks, including preparing journal entries and ensuring all transactions are submitted before cut-off. • Generate reports and maintain organized filing systems for invoices and supporting documents. • Process sales and use tax calculations, manage annual filings, and handle year-end tax documentation. • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting or accounts payable role. • Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. • Proficiency in NetSuite and Excel, with the ability to generate detailed reports. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Familiarity with month-end close procedures, fixed assets, and tax-related processes. • Experience with accounts payable functions, including coding invoices and ACH transactions. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Reliability, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
