Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Buffalo, New York. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to manage critical financial operations and ensure accuracy in payment processing. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounts payable functions and a strong commitment to detail and efficiency. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice coding and verification, to ensure timely and accurate payments. • Manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs to maintain seamless payment operations. • Review, code, and reconcile invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures. • Communicate with vendors to resolve payment discrepancies and maintain positive relationships. • Ensure all financial records are updated and accurately reflect payment activities. • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports related to accounts payable. • Collaborate with internal teams to support budget tracking and expense management. • Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements related to payment processing. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable department. • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable operations, including invoice coding and payment processing. • Proficiency in handling Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping. • Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools used in accounts payable. • Knowledge of regulatory standards related to payment processing. • Experience in generating financial reports and supporting audits.
