Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Abington, PA. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts payable processes and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records. The role requires excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to interact effectively with vendors, employees, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Review purchase order requests, check requests, and invoices to ensure accuracy and proper authorization. • Distribute invoices to relevant faculty and staff for approval and coding, ensuring compliance with documentation and approval standards. • Process check requests and purchase order submissions in a timely manner. • Manage the employee credit card system, including overseeing proper documentation and timely bill reconciliation. • Optimize the use of the Blackbaud Accounts Payable system to enhance efficiency. • Maintain positive vendor relationships by addressing inquiries and ensuring timely follow-ups. • Organize files for vendor reporting and generate regulatory reports within required timelines. • Prepare accounts payable documentation for audits and year-end reporting. • Handle petty cash disbursements and manage cash box transactions. • Conduct weekly accounts payable reconciliations and follow up on outstanding payments. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum of two years of general office experience, with at least one year specifically in accounts payable. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Initiative and attention to detail with a commitment to follow-through. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. • Proficiency in web-based applications and essential office equipment. • Excellent communication skills suited to a school environment.
