Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position that offers a mix of both in-office and remote work, providing flexibility to support your work-life balance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing vendor invoices, resolving escalations, and ensuring smooth operations within the accounts payable process.
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently to maintain timely payments.
• Conduct thorough research to resolve discrepancies, including canceled purchase orders or incomplete statements.
• Collaborate with branch teams to ensure they are informed of accounts payable procedures and changes.
• Perform data entry tasks to support the accounts payable team and free up senior staff for complex issue resolution.
• Manage account coding and invoice approvals to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
• Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and oversee check runs for vendor payments.
• Respond to escalations and inquiries from vendors and internal teams with professionalism and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
• Support process improvements and assist in training new team members as needed.

Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data entry tasks.
• Proficiency in managing and coding invoices, including vendor and customer invoices.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes and check runs.
• Ability to research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward resolving escalations.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
