Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Napa, California. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This is a long-term contract position within the healthcare industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive work environment. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. • Conduct periodic physical inventory checks of sensitive fixed assets and maintain proper documentation. • Ensure timely payment of accounts payable and adherence to established accounting methods and principles. • Complete bank reconciliations regularly and maintain detailed financial records. • Prepare various reports, including surveys, census statements, sales tax returns, and business property statements, with precision. • Monitor cash flow to anticipate funding needs and maintain financial stability. • Maintain an organized system of controls for accounting transactions and filing systems. • Develop and utilize complex spreadsheets and databases for audit analysis using Microsoft Office applications. • Process state claims quarterly and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all financial and audit activities. Requirements • Proficiency in account coding and accounting software systems. • Experience with ERP systems and financial services tools such as ADP and Concur. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accrual accounting. • Familiarity with auditing procedures and automated clearing house (ACH) transactions. • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities efficiently. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for creating complex spreadsheets. • High level of detail-oriented conduct with a focus on maintaining confidentiality. • Capability to work independently and produce accurate, detailed financial work.
