Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Akron, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounts payable and accounting functions. You will play a key part in managing invoice processing, payment reconciliation, and vendor communication to ensure the smooth operation of financial activities. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable invoices with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and documentation are adhered to. • Verify vouchers and match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents. • Code invoices correctly and secure necessary approvals for payments. • Maintain and organize document storage for invoices and associated records. • Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly. • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve invoice inquiries and update payment statuses. • Prepare and execute electronic payments, including ACH transfers and wire transactions. • Review employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and accuracy. • Support month-end closing procedures, including accruals and account reconciliations. • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles. • Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms. • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles. • Ability to perform account reconciliations and analysis with attention to detail. • Familiarity with ACH transfers and electronic payment methods. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting. • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and records effectively. • Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions.
