Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist Location: Farmington, CT (Fully Onsite) Salary Range: Up to $25 an hour Hours: Mon- Fri (8:00am to 5:00pm) Reports to: Controller Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in a fast-paced construction environment. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry, but not a requirement. Key Responsibilities: + Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to job cost and general ledger accounts. + Verify purchase orders, delivery receipts, and contracts to ensure proper documentation and approvals. + Manage weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers. + Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, insurance certificates, and lien waivers. + Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. + Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure accurate job costing and budget tracking. + Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting. + Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and industry regulations. + Support year-end 1099 processing and audits as needed. Qualifications: + 2+ years of accounts payable experience. + Familiarity with Accounting ERP Systems. + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
