Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing and processing financial transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in accounting systems and contribute to efficient operations. Responsibilities: • Process invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper account coding. • Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to manage accounts payable workflows and records. • Verify and reconcile financial statements and transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies. • Monitor and enforce compliance with accrual accounting practices and organizational policies. • Manage ACH transactions and ensure seamless payment processing. • Assist in auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and support. • Maintain vendor records and establish effective communication to resolve payment inquiries. • Implement best practices for accounts payable procedures to optimize efficiency. • Collaborate with internal teams to support financial reporting and analysis needs. • Utilize QuickBooks and other tools for financial data entry and reporting. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles. • Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms. • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and financial principles. • Familiarity with auditing processes and documentation requirements. • Ability to manage ACH transactions and payment processing efficiently. • Skilled in QuickBooks and other accounting tools. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
