Description Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in North Houston on a contract to hire basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate payment processing, and maintaining compliance with financial policies. Responsibilities: • Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and purchase order details. • Match invoices to corresponding purchase orders and verify compliance with company policies. • Identify and resolve discrepancies on invoices, including pricing errors or duplicate payments, through effective communication with vendors. • Prepare and execute payment batches using checks, ACH, or electronic payment platforms. • Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all payments are accurate and address outstanding issues promptly. • Generate detailed reports on accounts payable activities, such as aging and vendor spending analyses. • Collaborate with vendors to address payment inquiries, resolve invoice issues, and manage outstanding balances. • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, internal controls, and tax regulations in accounts payable processes. Requirements • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including accounts payable processes. • Strong analytical skills. • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable role.
