Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of expense reports, invoices, and payments. This position is ideal for candidates with strong organizational skills and a background in financial systems, particularly Great Plains. Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough reviews of expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies. • Prepare and process batches for accounts payable transactions. • Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Manage invoice coding and ensure proper account allocation. • Oversee Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and perform regular check runs. • Utilize the Great Plains system to manage and track accounts payable processes. • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve payment-related inquiries. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial documentation. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role. • Proficiency in using Great Plains (GPAC) or similar financial systems. • Strong knowledge of coding invoices and account allocation. • Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and check run processes. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
