Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Frederick, Colorado. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in full-cycle accounts payable processes. The role involves managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, and handling tax-related duties. Responsibilities: • Process and manage full-cycle accounts payable, including coding and paying invoices. • Perform monthly and annual financial closings, ensuring all deadlines are met. • Reconcile accounts, credit cards, and bank statements with precision. • Prepare and file sales and use tax reports using Vertex software. • Generate journal entries and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial records. • Conduct check runs and process Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments. • Review and verify invoice accuracy before payment processing. • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all transactions. • Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial statements. • Collaborate with other departments on financial reporting and analysis. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and full-cycle accounting processes. • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. • Strong skills in account coding and invoice processing. • Familiarity with sales and use tax preparation, including Vertex software. • Expertise in bank, credit card, and account reconciliations. • Ability to create accurate journal entries and maintain general ledger records. • Knowledge of month-end and year-end closing procedures. • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
