Accounts Payable Specialist

General Summary 

Responsible for accounts payable processing including calculating, posting and verifying payments.  Compiles and maintains accounts payable records and vendor files.  Prepare and distribute checks.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Receive and distribute invoices and vouchers for approval   Electronically file checks   Electronically file payables reports   Make payments to vendors   Prepare checks for mailing   Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment   Assist in payment reconciliations   Other duties as assigned  

 

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements 

Strong attention to detail   Effective organizational skills   Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financials  

 

Work Experience 

1 year of basic knowledge of computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets. 

 

Education, Licenses and Certification 

Required: 

High School Diploma
