Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Worcester, Massachusetts. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing high-volume invoice processing and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the energy and natural resources industry while contributing to the efficiency of our accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Process 500 invoices weekly with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. • Perform detailed data entry tasks to maintain organized and up-to-date financial records. • Utilize accounting software systems such as Great Plains, Workday, and other ERP tools to manage accounts payable activities. • Collaborate with intercompany teams to obtain necessary approvals and resolve discrepancies. • Address vendor correspondence professionally to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution. • Analyze and resolve invoice discrepancies to maintain accurate financial reporting. • Apply proper account coding practices to ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Use Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes to support decision-making. • Support auditing processes and ensure adherence to accrual accounting principles. • Process Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments as part of routine financial operations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable roles, including high-volume invoice processing. • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Great Plains, Workday, or similar ERP tools. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable functions and accrual accounting practices. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Ability to handle vendor correspondence and resolve discrepancies effectively. • Familiarity with account coding and auditing processes. • Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment processing. • Strong organizational and communication skills to work collaboratively across teams.
