Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Cibolo, Texas. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to play a key role in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles to help our organization achieve financial efficiency and compliance. Responsibilities: • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely updates. • Oversee monthly closing processes, including reviewing and analyzing financial data. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper coding and timely processing of invoices and payments. • Conduct budget versus actual analysis to identify variances and provide actionable insights. • Lead the company spending approval process, including organizing meetings and tracking expenditures. • Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly consolidated packages and balance sheet statements. • Support month-end close activities and maintain related schedules. • Assist in the creation and monitoring of the company operating budget, collaborating with management to ensure adherence to financial targets. • Perform banking and credit card reconciliations, addressing discrepancies as needed. • Provide documentation and support for internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Proficiency in Dynamics AX and Excel, including advanced formulas. • Strong knowledge of payroll, general ledger reconciliation, and financial reporting. • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to taxes and financial reporting. • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating financial data into actionable business insights. • Ability to work with discretion, professionalism, and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
