Accounts Payable Specialist
Description Are you detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with accounts payable processes and 3-way matching? Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices while verifying transactions through the 3-way matching process. This is a valuable opportunity to be part of a team that values precision and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: + Invoice Management: Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to general ledger accounts. + 3-Way Matching: Perform 3-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to validate data accuracy and prevent discrepancies. + Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments, and checks in a timely and accurate manner. + Issue Resolution: Collaborate with vendors, procurement, and receiving departments to resolve invoice discrepancies or unmatched items. + Expense Tracking: Maintain accurate vendor records and reconcile monthly accounts payable transactions. + Compliance Assurance: Ensure all transactions adhere to company policy, internal controls, and compliance with applicable regulations. + Reporting: Generate reports on accounts payable metrics, including aging reports, and assist with audits as necessary. + Process Improvement: Offer recommendations to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and mitigate risk within accounts payable workflows. Requirements Preferred Qualifications: + Experience: 2+ years of accounts payable or relevant accounting experience, including 3-way matching practices. + Education: Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred but not required). + Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. + Attention to Detail: Accuracy and an eye for inconsistencies are crucial for success in this role. + Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors. + Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
