Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves helping the organization with some AP clean up work specifically around reconciling statements, educating different locations regarding proper AP procedures, and ensuring accurate vendor communication. Responsibilities: • Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and ensure smooth payment processes. • Perform corrections and rework on coding and approvals while educating field teams on proper procedures. • Utilize Great Plains AP module to manage accounting tasks efficiently. • Maintain organized records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements. • Assist in cleaning up statement reconciliation • Support team members by addressing complex accounts payable issues and providing solutions • Process accounts payable for multiple entities, including both purchase order and non-purchase order transactions. • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate payments. • Handle high volumes of invoices daily, maintaining quality and accuracy over speed. Requirements • Extensive experience in accounts payable, including high-volume invoice processing. • Proficiency in Great Plains Accounting software is a plus • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies. • Familiarity with account coding, invoice coding, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes. • Excellent communication skills for effective vendor interaction and team collaboration. • Ability to perform check runs and manage payment schedules efficiently. • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance. • Prior experience in reconciling statements and handling corrections is highly desirable.
