Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Monterey, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with organizational standards. This is a 40-hour-per-week position, offering competitive compensation. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments. • Manage accounts payable processes, including ACH transactions and check distributions. • Reconcile account discrepancies and resolve payment issues with vendors. • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to maintain financial records. • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to financial transactions. • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries. • Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports for auditing purposes. • Monitor accrual accounting processes and assist in month-end close activities. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function. • Communicate effectively with vendors and team members to ensure smooth operations. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms and Concur. • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and financial reporting. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Effective communication skills to address issues and collaborate with team members. • Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and auditing processes. • Demonstrated ability to follow organizational policies and procedures. • Experience with account coding and financial documentation.
