Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Homewood, Illinois. This is a long-term contract position within the machinery manufacturing industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-volume accounts payable process. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a sharp eye for accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately input supplier invoices into the accounting system, ensuring timeliness and precision.
• Investigate purchase order discrepancies and resolve variances in pricing, quantities, or items.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding invoices, statements, and payment statuses.
• Collaborate closely with Purchasing and Operations teams to establish efficient workflows.
• Maintain vendor accounts and ensure timely processing of payments.
• Handle a high volume of invoices daily, managing complex workflows and discrepancies.
• Assist with special projects and support document management system operations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations while maintaining accurate records.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Organize and maintain financial documents for easy accessibility and auditing.
The salary range for this position is $23 to $24/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounts payable experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Proficiency in data entry, with fast and accurate typing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of invoices.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
• Experience using Epicor or similar accounting systems.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.
