Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in managing the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and familiarity with ERP systems. Responsibilities: • Verify and reconcile invoices against receiving and purchase documents to ensure accuracy. • Review purchase orders and requisitions to confirm appropriate approvals are in place. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoice items, pricing, or receiving issues. • Prepare invoices for entry into the QuickBooks system, including coding general ledger accounts and updating inventory spreadsheets. • Process weekly payments for accounts payable, including checks and credit card transactions. • Perform reconciliations for the general ledger and accounts payable trial balance. • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address payment inquiries and resolve any issues. • Maintain organized records for all accounts payable transactions to support audits and reporting. • Utilize Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for data management and reporting tasks. Requirements • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role. • Proficiency in ERP systems • Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial data management. • Excellent problem-solving skills for resolving invoice and payment discrepancies. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to accounts payable.
