Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This is a long-term contract position ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in managing complex invoices and ensuring timely payments. The role requires analytical skills, a proactive approach, and expertise in working with accounting software and ERP systems like NetSuite. Responsibilities: • Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Manage data imports and reconcile vendor statements to maintain accurate financial records. • Collaborate with multiple internal touchpoints to review and approve payments in a timely manner. • Leverage discounts by ensuring all payments are processed within the required timeframe. • Analyze and resolve discrepancies in invoice and payment records, ensuring proper account coding. • Utilize ERP and accounting software, including NetSuite, to streamline accounts payable functions. • Handle complex invoices, particularly for pharmaceutical and drug companies, with precision. • Support the auditing process by providing accurate and organized financial documentation. • Continuously refine and improve the accounts payable review process to enhance efficiency. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role. • Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems such as NetSuite, ADP, and Concur. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies and identify process improvements. • Familiarity with accrual accounting and automated clearing house (ACH) transactions. • Experience managing vendor statements and handling complex invoices. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment. • Knowledge of account coding and other foundational accounting functions.
