Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a key part in managing high-volume invoice processing, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in accounts payable while collaborating with internal partners in a dynamic educational environment. Responsibilities: • Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, including matching, batching, and coding invoices. • Process employee expense reports while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and assist with check processing. • Provide administrative support to the Accounts Payable and Finance departments. • Collaborate with internal business partners to resolve invoice and payment inquiries. • Assist with both internal and external audits by preparing and organizing relevant documentation. • Sort, open, and distribute department mail daily, ensuring timely handling. • Organize, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other financial documents for proper record-keeping. • Validate, record, and expedite check processing, including handling special payment requests. • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support departmental goals. Requirements • Proven experience in high-volume accounts payable processes. • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software systems. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across technical and financial teams. • Solid knowledge of spreadsheets and database management tools. • Experience with encoding check processing and accrual accounting. • Understanding of Form 1099 and P-card processes. • Ability to follow process documentation and maintain compliance with company policies.
