Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Maine. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of payables, including both purchase order and non-purchase order processes. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment. • Manage both purchase order and non-purchase order accounts payable workflows. • Perform regular check runs and reconcile payment discrepancies. • Accurately input and maintain financial data within accounting systems. • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice-related issues. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all accounts payable tasks. • Utilize software tools like Microsoft Excel and Lawson for efficient data management. • Maintain organized records of all transactions and provide support during audits. • Monitor vendor accounts and communicate effectively to address inquiries. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounts payable systems. • Demonstrated expertise in processing purchase orders and non-purchase orders. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding invoices and data entry. • Familiarity with check processing and reconciliation procedures. • Hands-on experience with Lawson or similar accounting software. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
