Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience managing accounts payable processes, working with QuickBooks, and handling vendor communications. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Manage accounts payable transactions, including coding expenses and preparing payments. • Collaborate with managers across multiple locations to resolve discrepancies and process credits. • Utilize QuickBooks Online to maintain and update financial records. • Handle sales tax reporting, including compiling data from spreadsheets and IT systems. • Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure timely payments and address any inquiries. • Perform weekly checks and reconcile statements to maintain accurate records. • Assist with automation processes and improve efficiency in payables operations. • Work closely with the Controller to support financial reporting and standard operating procedures. • Maintain organized documentation of all transactions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Requirements • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software systems. • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including coding and reconciliation. • Experience with sales tax reporting and handling credit memos. • Ability to manage high volumes of invoices and vendor communications. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with vendors and team members. • Ability to work independently once trained and meet deadlines in a remote or office setting.
