Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a long-term contract position that offers a hybrid work schedule after initial on-site training. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of handling key financial tasks while contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness. • Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies. • Handle state, local, sales, and use tax reporting requirements. • Assist in month-end closing activities, ensuring all tasks are completed effectively. • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed. • Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger. • Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and ensure deadlines are met. • Support audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors. • Monitor accounts payable metrics and suggest improvements for efficiency. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions. • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger management. • Familiarity with tax reporting, including state, local, sales, and use taxes. • Ability to assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
