Summit Design and Engineering is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist who is a self-starter, extremely accurate, and has a high degree of analytical skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently. The position will be based in the Hillsborough or Raleigh office, with the option to work from home on occasion. All training will be in the Hillsborough office. \n
Responsibilities:\n\nReview and process company credit card statements.\nEfficient and accurate entry into Deltek.\nMaintain AP system records and coordinate new vendor setup.\nReconcile corporate credit card statements.\nReconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.\nProcess employee expense reports.\nAssist with month-end closing.\nMeet period and year-end deadlines and deliverables and close.\nReview, code, and process AP invoices.\nVerify the accuracy of invoices and contact managers for approval.\nAudit employee expenses to ensure compliance with company policy prior to payment.\nCommunicate with personnel to research discrepancies and provide updates on resolutions.\nAssist with special accounting projects and clerical and other accounting-related tasks as needed.\nSupport everyday accounting functions and consult with other accounting staff or office staff to resolve accounting discrepancies or answer questions.\n\n
Skills and Qualifications:\n\nHigh School diploma with a minimum of five years of AP experience required or an Associate's degree in business or accounting from a two-year technical college and three years \nDetail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.\nAbility to problem-solve and analyze accounting reports.\nExcellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively.\nExcellent customer service and organizational skills.\nMust be able to deal with difficult, sensitive, and confidential information.\nExperience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.\nAbility to travel between offices as needed\n\n
